Our Egyptologist will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor
to visit Luxor West Bank starting with the legendary
Valley of the Kings
during Egypt’s New Kingdom the valley became a royal burial ground for pharaohs such as Tutankhamun, Seti I, and Ramses II, as well as queens, high priests, and other elites, the tombs feature elaborate preparations for the next world, in which humans were promised continuing life and pharaohs were expected to become one with the gods, our Egyptologist’s explanation here will cast some light on ancient Egyptian mummification and the biggest discoveries made in the valley.
Then you will head over to the
Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut
, commissioned by the only female Pharaoh in the history of Egypt. The temple was built at the base of a cliff from which the structure was partly cut, then you will have another sightseeing stop at one of the most iconic sites in west bank which is the
Colossi of Memnon
the two faceless statues originally representing the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, are rising majestically about 17m from the plain. These magnificent colossi, each cut from a single block of stone were flanking the eastern entrance to the funerary temple of Pharaoh. Afterwards you will be transferred back to your hotel.
