Our Egyptologist will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan for your tour
starting with
the
Unfinished Obelisk
, this large unfinished obelisk in the northern quarries of Aswan has provided valuable insight into how these monuments were created, although the full construction process is still not entirely clear. Then you will head for
Aswan High Dam
, Egypt’s modern example of construction on a monumental scale, the dam is a 13km south of Aswan, contains 18 times the amount of material used in the Great Pyramid of Giza and created a reservoir named Lake Nasser considered one of the world’s largest artificial lakes, during this part of the day you will learn very interesting facts about Egypt’s lifegiving river which is also the longest on the planet then you will head over to Aswan Old Dam where you will be dropped off to take your motor-boat to visit
Philae Temple
, this temple complex that once stood on Philae Island was dismantled and moved to the nearby Agilkia Island as part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project, the highlight here is the Graeco-Roman Temple of goddess Isis which was the last outpost of the ancient Egyptian religion thus our Egyptologist’s explanation here will shed light on the ancient Egyptian mythology.
